Hannah has been part of the Creative & Brave whānau for 4 years. Starting out as a retail assistant she can now be found managing our beautiful Botany location. Known for her ever changing hair colour and funky sense of style she is a well known friendly face to all our customers.

Whats your favourite thing about Creative & Brave?
That we share the stories of our creatives with our customers. It gives me a great sense of reassurance and pride to represent local wares and pass their stories on firsthand. I love that Creative & Brave takes pride in this. To be able to add a personal touch for the customer and explain the history of a business or an ethical backstory is so cool. I feel like this is the strongest aspect of Creative & Brave and I love being apart of it.

Who's your favourite Artist?
This is a tough one. Their are so many handmade wares and unique creations I adore. It would have to be a toss up between the Te Huia fundraising cushions and the art works of Barry Ross Smith

I love the grass roots initiative behind Te Huia that gives back to their local community in Taumarunui, and the sense of nostalgia all our customers get when they see the beautiful retro blankets that are given a second life as cushions. A lovely mix of unique, sustainable and kiwi-as.

Barry's pieces have always captured me since I started with Creative & Brave. I love to watch our customers in the store taking a leisurely stroll past his frames, stopping to take in the intricate details. There's a twist of surrealism to his art that just makes you want to stop and look. I also love the fact that his work strongly advocates for the conservation of Aotearoa's native birds (you know we love our feathered friends at C&B).

What do you love about the Botany location?
The little ecosystem that we have at our Botany location is just cool. We have some lovely regulars who pop in for some shopping and often times some come in for a friendly yarn. Our store is based in Garden Lane within the Botany Town Centre and we have some fabulous neighbours. Ronnies is a local favourite and located opposite us (they do a great coffee). Garden Lane offers fresh air and sun on a good day and is something I try not to take for granted as a lot of shopping centres don't offer this.
